Finops Engineer

Cloud Cost Management & Optimization • Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spending across Azure and AWS platforms • Identify cost-saving opportunities (rightsizing, reserved instances, savings plans, etc.) • Implement cost allocation strategies using tagging and cost hierarchy models Financial Governance & Reporting • Develop and maintain cloud cost dashboards and financial reports • Establish budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for cloud consumption • Provide insights to stakeholders on cost trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities FinOps Practices & Framework • Implement and mature FinOps best practices (cost visibility, accountability, optimization) • Collaborate with engineering teams to ingrain cost-aware architecture principles • Drive adoption of FinOps tools and automation frameworks Automation & Tools • Design and implement automation for cost tracking and optimization • Work with tools such as: • o Azure Cost Management + Billing o AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, CUR o Third-party tools (e.g., Cloud Health, Cloudability, Finout) • Use scripting (Python, PowerShell, Terraform) for automation Stakeholder Collaboration • Partner with Finance, Procurement, and Engineering teams • Support business units in cost planning and accountability • Drive awareness and training on cloud financial governance Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills • Strong experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms • Deep understanding of: • o Azure Cost Management & AWS Cost Explorer o Pricing models (On-demand, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Spot) • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / ARM / CloudFormation) • Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) FinOps & Cloud Expertise • Practical experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or cloud governance • Knowledge of FinOps Foundation principles and framework • Experience implementing tagging strategies and cost allocation models Data & Reporting • Strong analytical skills with experience in: • o Power BI / Tableau / Excel for cost reporting o Handling large cost datasets (e.g., AWS CUR, Azure exports) Interested can share CVs to
