1. Who we are

HelloJobs is an online job portal connecting candidates with recruiters. HelloJobs.co.za is a product and registered trading platform of Dinamo Software Solutions (Pty) Ltd, and all services provided through this website are offered by Dinamo Software Solutions (Pty) Ltd, which is the “responsible party” for the personal information processed through this website. Questions about your privacy can be sent to our Information Officer at privacy@hellojobs.co.za.

2. Information we collect

Account details (name, email, password). For candidates: contact number, current role, education, professional summary, skills, work experience, preferred job type, work eligibility, availability and your uploaded CV. For recruiters: company name, contact phone, website and company details. We also keep activity such as applications, saved jobs, contact requests and messages you send us.

3. Why we process it (purpose)

To create and manage your account, let you apply for or advertise jobs, connect candidates with recruiters through our protected workflow, respond to your queries, and keep the platform secure. We only collect what is necessary for these purposes.

4. Consent and lawful basis

We process your personal information with your consent, given when you register and complete your profile, and to perform the service you ask of us. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

5. Sharing your information

A candidate’s contact details and CV are never shared with a recruiter automatically. A recruiter must request them, and they are only released after an administrator approves — and that access can be revoked. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Direct marketing

We will only send you marketing or re-engagement emails where permitted, and every such message includes a way to opt out.

7. Security

Passwords are stored as irreversible hashes (never in plain text). CVs are stored privately and only served through access-controlled, audited downloads. We use role-based access control, encryption in transit, and other safeguards to protect your data.

8. Retention

We keep your information only as long as your account is active or as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal obligations. Job adverts expire automatically, and you can delete your account and associated data at any time.

9. Your rights

You may access and correct your information from your profile, download a copy of your data, and delete your account (with all associated personal information) at any time from Account & Data. You may also object to processing or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and secure your session. We do not use them for advertising.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
