Our Company is seeking 4 Laboratory Analysis Inspectors with strong experience in mining, mineral analysis, chemical assays, QA/QC, and independent verification of laboratory results to support mining projects in South Africa and international operations.
🔬 Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and verify samples of copper, cobalt, gold, lithium, nickel, manganese, iron ore, platinum-group minerals, and mineral concentrates.
• Conduct or supervise laboratory analysis using XRF, ICP-OES/ICP-MS, AAS, titration, and other applicable analytical methods.
• Supervise sample preparation, including crushing, drying, splitting, and pulverizing.
• Ensure proper sample identification, labeling, sealing, traceability, and Chain of Custody procedures.
• Review Certified Reference Materials (CRM), blanks, duplicates, and calibration records as part of QA/QC procedures.
• Compare independent laboratory results with declarations and supporting documentation provided by exporters.
• Identify potential grade deviations, contamination, analytical inconsistencies, or mineral substitution.
• Inspect laboratory equipment, calibration records, operating procedures, and technical documentation.
• Verify sampling procedures at mines, processing plants, warehouses, ports, and mineral export facilities.
• Prepare detailed technical inspection, laboratory analysis, and result-verification reports.
🎓 Candidate Requirements
✔ 5–10 years of experience in mineral laboratory analysis, chemical assays, mining QA/QC, or commodity inspection.
✔ University degree or diploma in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Metallurgy, Geology, Mineral Processing, or a related field.
✔ Practical experience with XRF and/or ICP is highly preferred.
✔ Strong knowledge of mineral sampling, sample preparation, chemical analysis, and QA/QC procedures.
✔ Experience working with mining companies, commercial laboratories, government authorities, or inspection companies.
✔ Strong skills in technical reporting, data analysis, and documentation.
✔ Experience with copper, cobalt, gold, lithium, nickel, manganese, iron ore, platinum-group minerals, and mineral concentrates will be an advantage.
✔ English is mandatory.
✔ Knowledge of South African mining operations, mineral laboratories, and commodity export procedures will be an advantage.
🌎 International Profile
Experience in international mining projects, commercial laboratories, mineral inspection, quality control, commodity analysis, and global mineral supply chains will be highly valued.
Candidates should be available to work at mines, processing plants, laboratories, warehouses, ports, and mineral export facilities, including remote locations and rotational assignments.
